Fraud office seeks Francis Holland School donation
The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is seeking to seize a £92,500 donation given by mortgage fraudster Achilleas Kallakis to his daughter’s school, Francis Holland near London’s Regent;s Park, City AM has reported.
Kallakis was convicted in 2013 of using fraudulently obtained loans to build a £740 million property empire.
The donation led to the school naming a hall after Kallakis, but the plaque bearing his name was removed when he was convicted and Kallakis’ son, Michaelis sued the school for breach of contract after it took down a plaque.
The SFO is attempting seize the school’s money as the proceeds of crime at a confiscation hearing currently being heard at Southwark Crown Court.
