Cargilfield School in Edinburgh has appointed Colin MacIntosh as its new headmaster, effective from August.
Cargilfield is an independent prep school for children aged from three to 13.
MacIntosh is currently headmaster at Ashfold School in Buckinghamshire where he and his wife, Anna, have led the school since September 2018. Before that, he was deputy head at Beaudesert Park in Gloucestershire and head of boarding at Aldro School in Surrey.
MacIntosh said: “I was immediately struck by the warmth and energy of the Cargilfield School community. The children’s love of learning and the teachers’ commitment to nurturing each child’s potential were truly inspiring. My family and I are incredibly excited to be joining the Cargilfield family and becoming part of the wonderful Edinburgh community.”
Cargilfield’s current headmaster Rob Taylor commented: “I am excited about the future of the School, given Colin’s leadership experience and qualities. Sarah and I are looking forward to welcoming Colin and Anna back to Cargilfield during the summer term.”
