Parents to sue closing school
Parents of children attending Falcon’s Pre-Preparatory School in Chiswick, West London say they will sue its new owners Inspired Education after the company confirmed that it is closing the school at the end of this term.
In a statement the parents said: “The distress and upset that this has process caused pupils, parents and staff has been immense.
“To be given less than 30 days to try to find alternative provision will be near impossible and will be deeply damaging to pupils’ wellbeing.
“The billionaire owners have refused to listen to our concerns and have dismissed options to keep the school open out of hand. It is shocking that they have refused to meet parents.”
Ruth Cadbury the school’s local MP has written to education secretary Gillian Keegan stating: “I am very disappointed that it appears that there has not been proper and thorough engagement with either parents, school staff and the local authority about this proposed closure. And the huge impact it would have on our community.”
A spokeswoman for Inspired Education said a consultation to close the school had already begun when Inspired merged with Falcon’s previous owners Alpha Plus Group earlier this year.
