A school bus carrying Warminster School pupils was left on its side following a crash on the A350 east of Trowbridge in Wiltshire yesterday, Yahoo! News has reported.

Pupils and the driver were raced to hospital with injuries as police closed off the road. However it was later confirmed that all involved had escaped with only minor injuries.

Warminster School is a co-educational independent boarding and day school in Warminster, Wiltshire, for pupils aged three to 18.

Warminster School’s headteacher Matt Williams said: “Yesterday evening one of our minibuses transporting 12 children home from school was involved in a road traffic accident near Ashton Common.

“Two members of staff from Warminster School went straight to the scene and parents of those pupils involved were quickly contacted.

“Our driver and several pupils were taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries, whilst others were taken home by their parents.

“We would like to thank the emergency services and all those at Steeple Ashton Village Hall for their support and kindness.”
